1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Free Image Tools at freeimgtools.net (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all visitors and users of the Service. We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Description of Service

Free Image Tools provides browser-based image processing tools including compression, format conversion, and resizing. The Service also includes an AI alt text generation feature and a collection of specialty image tools.

Key characteristics of the Service:

  • No account required. You can use all tools without registering or providing any personal information.
  • Browser-based processing. All image operations except AI alt text run entirely in your browser using the Canvas API and FileReader API. Your image files are not uploaded to our servers.
  • Free to use. The tools are provided at no cost. The Service is supported by Google AdSense advertising.
  • No storage. We do not store your images. There is no image history, no account, and no cloud storage.

The AI Alt Text feature sends image data to Cloudflare's AI inference service to generate a description. See Section 7 (Third-Party Services) and the Privacy Policy for details.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict or inhibit anyone else's use of the Service.

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to process or distribute illegal content, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or content that violates intellectual property rights you do not own or have rights to use.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service in ways that could impair its availability for other users.
  • Use automated scripts or bots to generate unusually high volumes of traffic to the Service.
  • Attempt to circumvent or interfere with any security-related features of the Service.

Because image processing happens in your browser, we have no technical access to the images you process. Responsibility for the content you process rests entirely with you.

4. Intellectual Property

Your images. You retain full ownership of any images you process using the Service. We claim no rights to your image content. Because images are processed locally in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers (except for the AI feature, which processes data in memory without storing it), we do not have access to your images at all.

Our content. The website design, code, text, and guides are owned by Free Image Tools. You may not reproduce or redistribute them without permission.

Third-party trademarks. References to file formats (JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF) and third-party services (Google, Cloudflare) are used for identification purposes. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by those companies.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be available at all times or without interruption.
  • The output of any tool will meet your specific requirements or quality standards.
  • The Service will be free of errors or defects.
  • AI-generated alt text will be accurate or appropriate for your specific use case.

Browser-based image processing results can vary depending on the browser, operating system, and image content. For critical applications — medical imaging, legal documents, print production — use professional dedicated software.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Free Image Tools and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of business, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service, which is zero, as the Service is provided free of charge.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such cases, the above limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service depends on the following third-party services, each of which has its own terms and privacy policies:

  • Google AdSense — displays advertising on the Service. Google may use cookies to serve personalized ads based on your browsing activity. You can opt out at adssettings.google.com. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's advertising policies.
  • Cloudflare AI — used only for the AI Alt Text feature. When you use that feature, your image is sent to Cloudflare's AI inference service to generate a text description. Cloudflare processes the image in memory without persistent storage. This is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare Pages — the Service is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs (IP addresses, request headers) as part of its hosting and security infrastructure. This is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services. Your use of the Service constitutes acceptance of their terms as well.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference. The Privacy Policy explains what data is and is not collected, and how it is used.

Short version: images you process in the browser never leave your device. The AI Alt Text feature is the only feature that transmits image data, and it does so only to Cloudflare's AI service for processing.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We will not notify users individually of changes, so we encourage you to review this page periodically if you use the Service regularly.

Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
